We are partnered with an online provider - Rafter - to ensure students have access to thousands of rental textbook titles. As you select you textbooks for your classes, many of the textbooks will show the option to "Rent Online!" signifying these titles are available for rent. Once you select and pay for your rental textbooks, these books will be shipped directly to you! At the end of the quarter or your rental period, you can either return your textbooks via mail or bring them directly into the Wildcat Shop.
To rent textbooks online, you will need a credit card to place the charge on. Financial aid is currently not an option for online rentals. However, if you would like to use Financial aid as your method of payment, you can always come into store and rent your textbooks through Financial aid.
No, but if your book is not postmarked by the end of your rental period, you will be charged for a 15 day auto extension at the same daily rate of your rental. If your book has not been returned by the end of this 15 day extension, you will be charged another 15 day auto extension. After the second auto extension, or if the price of an extension is greater than or equal to the buyout price, an automatic buyout will then be charged. Once you are charged the buyout price for a book, you opt out of the rental agreement and the book becomes your property.
Rental return is easy! You can either mail it directly back to Rafter or come into the Wildcat Shop to do a return. If you are mailing your rentals back to Rafter, you can access mailing information through your "My Account" Options on Rafter.
Yes, you can as long as it does not make the book unreadable. Please refrain from using Sharpie markers or other markers that would seep through the pages and make reading difficult. If your book is deemed damaged by highlighting, we or Rafter may not accept the textbook back and a fine might be imposed.
Prices and availablity will sometimes vary from website to store. Due to the textbooks coming from a different Rafter Warehouse for the website and the Wildcat Shop, the Wildcat Shop is only able to rent the textbook for the price it is listed in store and not at the online price (or vice versa). Some textbooks are also only available for rent online or in store, and cannot be honored between the two.
